Quest
for the Rings
Geocoin Design Contest The Pacific Jamboree 2011 Team is creating a geocaching geocoin to commemorate the Great Quest and we need your help to design it! The best designer will win a special edition proof of the coin and will be the envy of all Middle Earth, especially the Dwarves! Once produced, these collectable geocoins will be for sale in the Tooks’ Trading Post in Hobbiton. The coin design should incorporate the theme of the PJ geocaching activity, Samwise’s Secret Stash, and/or the PJ theme, “Quest for the Rings”. It should also have some aspect of Scouting and Geocaching in the design. The contest is open to all Scouting members, from Beavers to Leaders. Format of entry can be a hand coloured sketch on 8.5 x 11" paper that is the perfect size to scan at our end for submission to the coin manufacturer's design department. Note: design will be on one side of the coin. Entries can be mailed to Mike Carruthers, 1140 Castle Crescent, Unit 185, Port Coquitlam, BC, V3C 5R5 or send electronically (.jpg, .gif, .pdf) to steamer12@gmail.com.
